Would you ever consider being a surrogate?

So recently brought this up to my SO & he freaked out which I totally understand & slightly expected.. but I’ve done my research & feel like I have the right mindset I would just like to speak to one who has experience, personally. I’m currently pregnant so realistically I wouldn’t be able to until about a year from now if breastfeeding is successful for me.. but idk I’m just curious!

No.  Pregnancy takes a heck of a toll on the body. The cost is too great for the reward (helping someone else out or money).

I watched a TV special a long time ago about surrogacy and all the things that can go wrong that people dont think about. One woman on the program was a surrogate for a couple until they all found out the baby had some kind of genetic defect. The couple wanted the woman to terminate, she said no. They totally ghosted her. So she was stuck with a pregnancy not hers, no payment, etc. If that wasnt bad enough..the baby is born, he does pretty well given his defect, and about a year or so later (if I remember correctly) the biological parents show up out of the blue wanting the child back, they sued for custody and...
They won.
So fuck that shit, surrogacy is a no for me. Maybe if it were family...but even then it would be such a difficult decision.

I did consider it but there are a few things that ultimately made me decide against it. To start financially I wouldn’t be able to justify it. I live in Canada and paying for surrogacy is illegal here. And while I would love to be able to give a family the gift of a child, I just can’t afford it. On top of that I don’t know if I’d be able to easily give up a child that grew inside me, regardless of the biological status of that child. Lastly my fiancé is fully against me being a surrogate (brought it up once and he flat out told me that he doesn’t want me doing it). I know I’m my own woman and can decide what I do with my body regardless of what my partner thinks, but I also respect my fiancé’s opinions about things like this - so him not being able to 100% support me if I became a surrogate is a big dealbreaker for me. I absolutely admire people who are surrogates though, I think it’s a seriously wonderful thing but it just doesn’t work for me personally.

I barely even want my body to be able to produce my own offspring one day. There is no way in hell I’d put myself through that for somebody else. Actually... maybe for like 6 million dollars and all inclusive awesome health and wellness care. But that’s where I draw my line. 
If you want to do that I though, then go for it.

I might if I could.
My body is tiny and frail. Ive always had heaps of hormonal issues. I prolly cant get pregnant without help.
Il be happy if I can get pregnant and wont need a surrogate myself.
But to be one knowing all the risks my body has I cant do that to someone. Imagine it works at first but something goes wrong down the line which is likely for me. That would be a horrible exsperience for them and me. No.
Some woman can be and want to be. I think thats awesome.
Some woman can but dont want to. Thats okay.
Some woman cant but want to. Thats sad but ok
And some woman cant and dont want to. Which is fine too
If you want to. Go for it. You should really think about it but you have at least a year.

I wouldn’t. I’m 19, and for 10 years I’ve promised myself that I couldn’t get into a Serious Relationship, Get Mariel or Get Pregnant. 
I feel great hold a child of 6 Months but Younger and I feel I’m going to break it and that makes the baby uncomfortable with me. I babysit a lot so I’m good with children. I helped my mom Raise my Brothers, one with Autism, and both of them are fine if not a little rebellious. But I cannot see myself with Child. 
I am so scared of pregnancy I don’t think it will ever be possible for me. I would love to help someone with having a child but can’t see myself Prego. 
I’ve decided to think about donating my Eggs. Look into it. And Adoption and Foster when I’m good and ready. 
I’m happy you are considering this and are taking to others and their opinions, but research it and talk with your Spouse.

If pregnancy wasn’t so hard on my body, and if I didn’t have preterm labor with each one, the yes, I totally would.

Before being pregnant I used to say that it's something that I would absolutely do. Now, pregnancy doesn't agree with me. I'm miserable all the time. Unless it was for a desperate family member, I don't know if I would. I don't think I even want to be pregnant again to have a second child for myself at this point tbh.
