So about 4 years ago my finances were great, I had money in my bank account, money in my savings, and a fair amount already saved up for my sons education. I was always in a good place with my finances, never fell behind on bills and was able to buy a lot of what I wanted when I wanted considering I was a single mom and living on my own with my toddler. Them boom my sons father served me with court papers, he wanted partial custody of our son. I was against this as he was in jail for arson, he was a drug addict, he was a danger to our son. Well the legal fees for all of this cost me about $25,000 and I’ve been in horrible debt since. And to top it all off he never showed up to court on the day all the decisions were going to be made and he disappeared from my sons life. Now I’ve been stuck in my overdraft, I can hardly pay all my bills, I’ve been struggling really bad and it’s starting to make me depressed. Any tips on getting out of debt when you have a baby and a kid in grade 3 plus a mortgage and bills to pay?

I am with a new man now who is a huge help but I’m struggling to get back on my feet.
