Is my boyfriend right to be angry?

My boyfriend brought me some chips ahoy cookies to eat in his bed for breakfast because I was hungry. Well chips ahoy cookies are very crumbly when you eat them and I didn’t realize but I got a lot of crumbs on his bed. I went to clean it up and he rushed over freaking out telling me I need to use common sense and that he isn’t going to let me eat on his bed anymore if I keep making messes. He screamed at me for 5 minutes and then ended up hugging me and apologizing. Was he right to be angry?

That's emotional abuse. It's just cookie crumbs. He offered it to you while you're in bed. Little things like this shouldnt affect him. He has the right to be angry that you dirty his bed but no rights for screaming at you for 5minutes. He could have just used the 5 minutes to clean the bed instead.

I would leave- not just because “it was cookies” but BECAUSE he yelled at you over something so small then apologized. That’s how abuse starts. Something little then it turns into big things. I’m not trying to scare you but if he’s getting upset over something that small what’s not say when its more serious he doesn’t do something worse?
