How many babies are talking a lot ?

My girl (5/29/18) has had some ear trouble for basically her whole life and I don’t know if she’s behind ... she’ll repeat us at times but not consistent
  
Few words she repeats 
Elmo 
Juju ( Julian ) 
Mama
Dada
More .... says this a lot with food 
Yesss
We read to her all day ( that’s honestly her favorite thing to do) picture books and she points her finger so we can say what it is

My daughter (5/31) had ear problems and got tubes a couple weeks ago. We have less than 10 words. She understands basically EVERYTHING you say, but can't repeat it back. I do think it is a delay from the ear infections and plan to discuss with both our ENT and pediatrician.

My baby is born 5-9 and she says mama, dada, kitty or cat, duck, bubba, nana, shoe, more, roll, Dayday ( uncle david)  and sometimes tries to say her brothers names. But doesn’t really sound much like their names yet. My child hasn’t had much ear trouble. Just slow talker. She won’t repeat words if you try to get her to. My brother didn’t really say anything until he was over 3. He still isn’t a big talker but is smart as can be.

My son says words when he feels like it! 😓I think he says “Mama” the most. But the dude doesn’t talk! Lol. My daughter must have been saying like 50 words at this age. 😱
It’s crazy to me where he’s at because of what I experienced with my daughter so naturally I’m concerned and worried but reading everyone else’s response and by the poll it seems like he’s okay 🤷🏽‍♀️

It sounds like your daughter has more words than mine and my daughter doesn't have ear problems. Even though the doctor isn't too worried I am contemplating reaching out to sources to help identify if she has speech delay. I'm giving it until her 18 month check-up.
