Back story: my boyfriend and I had broken up. I packed my stuff and left and a few weeks later I had sex with an old friend. My therapist advised not to tell my ex of my sex life (for obviously good reasons)

We didn’t speak the week I was hooking up with this guy but we had plans for when I came back. I bought really expensive game tickets and I told him he could take someone else so my money doesn’t go to waste and he said he would rip the tickets up if I didn’t go with him... so I went.

Weeks pass by and it slipped by accident that I hooked up with said guy. He lost his shit and to this day he claims I cheated on him. We were both aware we broke up. Both aware we were single and I didn’t speak to him during the time it happened.

We got back together months later but that’s besides the point. I just want to know if you think he’s right so I can focus on me cheating in therapy
