Hey everyone,

I’m stuck in a confusing situation and I don’t know where else to go to for advice. My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year now and we are pretty serious. (Or I thought we were). We are both 21 years of age and we are planning on getting married in January 2020. We aren’t engaged yet sooooo I’m not sure if he is holding “we are getting married soon so blah blah” over my head to keep me or what..

But anyway, I feel like he only thinks about himself. I bought up multiple times about how it has always been a dream of mine to move to SC/NC in the mountains. Yet whenever I say it, he gets mad and says that he will NEVER move out of his parents old house. His parents gave him their old house and it is still filled with their stuff, cat fur (kinda allergic to cats) and his ex’s stuff. It does bother me a lot because the house is falling apart and he will not compromise with me and move out.. we both are very good jobs so money isn’t a problem. I told him that we don’t have to sell this house. We can keep it and just get a new nice house somewhere else. Also, his parents live on the same drive way as us and his mom walks in our house many of times without asking. I don’t know if I’m being inconsiderate or what..

I love him dearly and I will compromise with him but he doesn’t want too. I tried to explain to him how I felt but whenever I brought it up, he told me that we don’t need to talk about it. It makes me feel like he only cares about himself because whenever I mention anything, he gets upset at me.

I don’t know what I should do.

Move on or follow what he wants?
