Reinsertion after copper iud expulsion

So I had a copper iud for about a year and a half until I felt a little knob and it had partially expelled. I had it removed and I’m off birth control now trying to look at my options. I really really REALLY want to try the copper iud again, but I read there was an increase in expulsion if I tried it again. When I spoke to my doctor, she said she had one patient with the same scenario and she decided to get another one and she’s perfectly fine.... I was wondering if anyone else had a similar situation and if you decided to get the copper iud again or decided to go with another option..
