I just started pills after being on an IUD for 2 years. My system is all out of wack. Is it safe for spouse and I to have unprotected sex in the first month of the pills or will this risk pregnancy? Also can you have unprotected sex on your placebo pills even if you’re not on your period?

My doctor told me because my system is “restarting” that i may not get my period when it’s time to take the placebo pills for the first three months! Is this safe or should we definitely use a condom?
