IVF: Waiting on insurance approval.
Hi. I just need to vent. I'm in the process of waiting if my insurance company (Aetna) will approve for my IVF in Oct/Nov. I have a history of 3 consecutive miscarriages in a 12 month span. Last one was in May and was a confirmed Trisomy 21. I don't know why these companies have to be so difficult with their rules and policies and etc. I'm already 41 and they want at least 6 months of failed natural pregnancy attempts before considering IVF. I've never had issues getting pregnant (but Idk time is ticking and maybe I'll start having issues there too) but it's the quality of my eggs that's the problem. All my lab works are ok, AMH 1.31, FSH 8.7, semen analysis fine. I do need surgery for my possible septated uterus but since there's no issues with me "getting pregnant" I feel that Aetna will not approve for my IVF.
I just wish I could be approved for an IVF with PGS. I'm just too terrified to try again naturally and go through another miscarriage especially due to chromosomal issues.
Can anyone share their experiences dealing with the insurance company over IVF coverage and getting approved?
Worse scenerio I guess will be to take out a loan and pay for it myself. Or should I just try again naturally and just let God decide for me and my family?
