Do I tell my doctor that I went ahead and got a second opinion on my own?

Just to summarize everything, went to the Er Friday, diagnosed with life threatening placenta accreta by ER doctor. Told my obgyn over email He said too early to know for sure and to wait till my next appointment with him. Well I couldn’t wait, I tried to get him to see me earlier but he was booked so I have to wait 3 weeks. My husband and I were panicking and just wanted more information on the possible diagnosis. we wanted to be prepared (life insurance, what to expect) Went to a maternal fetal specialist (they got me in ASAP) she said It is suspected to be placenta accreta, very dangerous and I would need a team of doctors to deliver and she was shocked that the ER doctor suspected it too. My question is, would you tell your ob that you sought out a second opinion on your own at my next appointment or is that somewhat disrespectful?
