Is anyone else's doctor concerned about baby's large size?

If so, have they discussed inducing you early? And can you refuse?

Mine has talked about him being large and is more concerned about my extra fluid being a problem for him. They have not yet discussed inducing but I am seeing a specialist. Honestly I'd rather induce early as long as he's healthy VS having a c section.

My doctor is. I’m scheduled Oct 15th, but everyone in that office Is convinced I’ll go into labor sooner. I have too much fluid and my baby is measuring around 4 weeks ahead.

You can refuse if you want to. My baby is measuring ahead and has been since the beginning, so my doctor said we could discuss inducing a week early after my 36 week growth scan and non-stress test (I'm currently 34w4d). I really want to avoid a c-section if at all possible, so I'm considering an early induction if they see that he is still measuring large. I would prefer to go into labor naturally of course.

My first two were big babies(9+ lbs)but I had them with midwives who weren’t concerned about size and I delivered them just fine!
This one I have to see an OB and she seems concerned that my first two were big, even though I was negative for GD or anything else)
It seems purely reactionary and not based on any real concerns. I just have big babies 🤷🏼‍♀️

You can always refuse! It is your body and you can make the decision! (With that being said I would seriously consider a doctors advice). I had a friend give birth a few weeks ago and all her scans said her baby was going to be close to 9 pounds - he was born at 7 lb 13oz .. so scans aren’t 100% accurate!

Mine is measuring 2 weeks ahead. She is concerned and says I may need a c section if she gets too big: but no talk of inducing early which I would prefer bc I don’t want to have a csection. I have a new ob who doesn’t listen to me so I’m stuck. For some doctors it’s what they think is best not what you feel like you want. So I don’t know if you could refusing induction or not.

My baby was measuring almost 2 weeks ahead last time I went (28 weeks). I have an appointment tomorrow (32 weeks) They might move up my date 🤞🏻

My babies were always measuring big but no doctor was ever concerned. I really think it depends on the doctor because I have friends who were induced due to size of baby and their babies were smaller or about the same size as mine.
