Hi everyone! I had an appointment today with my OB and I left the hospital very frustrated..

I am hyper tense since very young, so I take medication, it’s totally under control. I’m 36 weeks pregnant right now and I just found out, from my OB, that I’m gonna have to be induced by week 39, rather I want it or not. I really didn’t understand why he said that and asked him if it was because I am hyper tense. He said he does that to every woman, because there are studies that said that it’s better for the baby to born at 39 weeks...! I found that crazy, since it’s my first pregnancy and it’s more common to go over 40 weeks (statistically).

My doula said that I don’t have to do what the doctor is saying (I guess by law), but of course it’s a horrible situation, and I don’t feel comfortable to argue against the doctor.

Does this situation happened with anyone here? Please share your experiences, I’m hoping for a natural birth and I’m very frustrated with this news I got today 😓
