Anyone else struggle to breastfeed in public??

I'm not comfortable just yet. My breasts are very large. I'm actually quite embarrassed by them in general these days so having to whip out my ginormous breasts in public makes me want to stay in. I also struggle with the logistics. My baby is 12 pounds. My breast is huge and needs to be supported. I also need to ensure her nose is not smothered by my breast. So I find it hard to nurse without a pillow. I also have yet to find a nursing bra in my size. My baby girl doesn't always latch well due to a strong letdown so its hard to use a cover I need to see her to get her to latch properly. I'm totally content feeding her at home but still struggling in public. I am incredibly greatful to be able to breastfeed my baby, and I love seeing her happy milk drunk smiles! I guess I just didn't realize how tough it was for some Mama's!

girl i have small boobs and even i can’t find it in myself to breastfeed in public!! moms have been shamed for breastfeeding in public so much that it’s pretty much taboo. hopefully bf becomes easier for you and way to go for doing your best(:

Ugh yes and I have the stroller cover for the stroller and myself. Today a lady could see it in my face I needed to breastfeed so bad. I just got myself together and did it. Hang in there!

I feel like i wrote this! I have larger boobs as well and was so uncomfortable nursing in public for the first month or so. I did find an amazing nursing cover on amazon that has a wire on top, It curves out so I can see my baby and it makes it so the nursing cover is not touching Baby’s head which bothers him as well. Also if you cradle your babies head on the inside of your elbow then you can use your other hand to make sure Baby’s nose isn’t blocked:). That works for me anyway. Good luck mama!

It IS tough to do it in public. I use a bottle for places I know I will be uncomfortable in. Hang in there mama!

I’m a 42DDD the only way I can breastfeed when we go places is in the car. I have to use both hands one to hold baby and on to hold my boob away from her face. I’ve tried covers but she gets super hot under them so she won’t stay latched long and it’s super hard for me to see her to make sure she’s not getting smothered. The only nursing bras that I’ve found that fit and that I can afford are Medela brand from target, they aren’t very supportive at all, comfortable for around the house but I feel really insecure in public because it hardly looks like I’m wearing a bra and my boobs seem like they almost go to my bellybutton.

I am a ways down in the alphabet and was told by several speciality stores that they dont make bras in my size. Then I found Ella bella maternity and they saved me. She has an online store that ships anywhere I think and is awesome with any questions. I have 4 nursing bras now all from there and they are fantastic.

My baby girl is 12 weeks and only drinks breast milk but I introduced the bottle (como tomo) early at 3 wks. My husband introduced it to help the transition. From very early on and to this day she can go from bottle to breast, back and forth. We go out a lot with her to get her used to being out and she does really well but I got tired of breastfeeding in public. I did it for about a month and a half with a cover up but now I never breastfeed in public. I have a freezer full of breast milk or just pump before we go out.

I also find it difficult. I use a nursing cover (out of religious modesty) and regardless I find my LO has a harder time feeding just from the position he’s in. So I find I’m feeding more often than I would be at home cause he gets hungry faster

I totally get that. I havent taken my baby out much but am going to start now that shes 2 months old and it's definitely something I worry about. 
When I have taken her out I either pump beforehand and bring a bottle or feed her in the backseat of my car. I do my best to time outings during the gap in her eating but that doesnt always work.
