Post partum care advice from 2nd time mom to 1st time moms💕
Hi soon to be mamas💕
I’m due in November with my second baby and I’m super excited! I wanted to do a quick post talking about post partum care. Something that I wish someone would have talked to me about before having my first baby a year and a half ago. At the hospital, the nurses will probably provide mesh panties, pads, dermaplast and a perri bottle. I suggest asking for as many of these as possible before leaving. But even if you get extras, you will probably need more to get through recovery if you have a vaginal delivery. I can’t speak for c sections since I didn’t have one, but these things were super helpful to me after my delivery.
I put the following in a little rolling cart in my bathroom and used these every time i went to the bathroom and throughout the day for a few weeks following the birth and each of these items made a huge difference. I got all of these things on amazon!!
1. Mesh panties/adult pad underwear.
The mesh under wear from the hospital were super comfortable honestly. I am trying adult diapers this time and mesh panties.
2. Perineal cold packs! These babies felt amazing! They helped feel instant relief every time I activated one and put it in my underwear.
3. Dermaplast spray. I’d spray it after peeing and it was instant relief as well. It’s a shot of cold air basically with pain relief and it’s awesome.
4. I didn’t have witch hazel pads last time but I’ve heard they are super helpful so I got some this time. Tucks brand is what I found on amazon.
5. Finally, I have a Frida perri bottle. You can use any perri bottle including the one you get at the hospital. I got this one because you can use it upside down. Every time I would go to the bathroom I would squirt water as I went to help with the sting and pain.
I hope this is helpful! Good luck! We’re almost there!
