What Does This Mean?

I broke up with my Boyfriend about 3 or 4 months ago. Last night I got a call from an unknown number and it was him. He asked how I was doing, How work was going and all of that stuff. Throughout the conversation he said ‘I’ll never meet someone like you again’ (or something along those lines, I can’t remember). He also asked if I was seeing anyone. He asked me to think about unblocking his number so he can text me. He said ‘we don’t have to text everyday, Don’t worry’. What does this mean?
