Suboxone and pregnant

I just wanted to share love and info for any mamas who are on suboxone or in active addiction while pregnant. I know how scared or nervous you are!

If you are in active addiction. Yes, you should quit. Sometimes that’s not really possible to do it on your own. Please wean yourself (do not quit cold turkey) or find a suboxone rehab ASAP.

Please know if you are on maintenance meds like suboxone or subutext with a script from your doctor you will be fine! However, if you decide to hide it from your doctor and you are on illegal meds without a prescription You will get in major trouble, sometimes even get your child taken at birth!

If you are on subs and your Pregnant and scared I just wanted to share my story to ease your mind a little.

I was on suboxone and my doctor switched me to subutext the moment i told him I was pregnant. My gynecologist worked with me and helped me so much. I was so scared my child would have withdrawals at birth or something would go wrong. I had a perfect and healthy pregnancy. My cervix would not open so I was induced. My 7lb 12oz little boy came into this world just perfect. They did watch him an extra day. He’s now an 8 month old super smart little boy. He can sing patty cake and say lots of words. He’s starting to walk!

Just a tip: please try to breastfeed if your on those meds. It will help wean your baby off the meds and help if there are any withdrawals what so ever.

Addiction does not discriminate! Us as moms just want to do what is best for our kids.
