2nd baby too soon?

My husband and I always agreed that we wanted to start trying for baby #2 after our daughter turns 1. 
Well, that’s in a little over a month and now I think he’s getting cold feet. I won’t lie, the idea of two under 2 makes me nervous! But I’ve always wanted my kids close in age, so they can do everything together. I know it’ll be hard, but it will also be so rewarding. 
I just want to know if anyone has kids close in age and what your experience was like. He’s mainly nervous that we would be so sleep deprived and still have an energetic toddler that we would be struggling to keep up with.

I’m due next month with baby #2. My girls will be 22 months apart. Total surprise pregnancy. I won’t recommend.. yes my body was healed and I was healthy when I got pregnant but This pregnancy has taken a toll on me. I have no energy to do things with my daughter. Trying to navigate her needs and growth while also preparing for another baby has been hard. I feel like I’ve taken away time with my daughter to let her be little and have all the attention she needs. I know it’ll be okay. My parents did it with me and my brother(we’re 18 months apart). But if I had a choice I would have waited 1-2 more years.

My husband and I planned to do the same thing too. When we checked in as the time approached we both agreed we wanted more one on one time with our son and we would plan for getting pregnant closer to when he’s 2. That was just our experience.

Big questions: how old are you and how long did it take to get pregnant the first time? Often people have a kid at 38-40 then suddenly have secondary infertility due to the rapid decline in egg quality after 40. Even 35, odds change.

My 3rd was 2yrs old when my 4th was born. And my 4th will be 17months when baby #5 is due.
