Will I undoubtedly know when my water breaks?

I wear a pad for incontinence at all times. I get the kind that is actually good at pulling moisture away from the skin. So when I leak I honestly don't feel it on my skin. From my understanding when your water breaks it is more of a slow release over time and not usually a gush.

So will I know for sure when my water breaks or do you think the pads might hinder me from noticing?
