Convertible carseat for 2 door car?

So this may be a long shot but I need recommendations. I have a 2 door Pontiac Firebird with rear bucket seats. There isn't much room back there. Even my baby's current infant carrier seat wouldn't let the passenger seat recline back all the way. Well he's outgrown his carrier at 8 months and I need a convertible carseat now. Anyone know one that would fit in my car that won't cost too terribly and is safe???

I had the diono radian rxt in my 2 door scion and it fit just fine. It’s a lot slimmer than other car seats which helps.

Cosco Scenera Next. It’s rearfaces to 40” or 40#, which is met first. It’s super compact and lightweight. Once outgrown rearfacing, it will not be useable forward facing because it has the same limits and the harness needs to be above the shoulders for ff. It’s like $50 at Walmart.

You probably wont be able to find a convertible seat for that size car. Unfortunately, because they change, they are bigger. All car seats meet the same safety standards though, so you can rest easier about that.

My bro has an evenflo cheaper one and it doesnt recline to much rear facing but may be harder to get baby out. It's in my car (for reasons idk) I can take pictures of it for you when my mom gets home from work.

Nuna Rava. It's not cheap but it takes up about 2-3 inches LESS room than my infant seat (chicco keyfit). That's right, I gained space by switching to the convertible seat.

Diono radian or Clek. They’re expensive but the narrowest on the market. I have 2 Cleks in a Prius C and will soon put in a 3rd one. Much cheaper than buying a new car.
