Anyone NOT throwing a birthday party?

We recently moved to a state where none of our families live. We only know a few people and it almost feels weird trying to force a party. But on the other hand I’ve always dreamed of throwing my baby a birthday party. Any ideas?

🙋🏻‍♀️... I honestly wanted my LO to have a big 1st birthday party but I’m almost due w/ baby #2 & we recently had a baby shower so I’m not up for all the planning & cleaning up... I’m exhausted.. so what we’re doing is a little cake-smash & going to the pumpkin patch w/ just the close ones like my husband & our LO’s grandparents.

We're not throwing one either but will still get balloons, banner and make a cake so we can celebrate together. Very very small scale and far less overwhelming for baby girl and me! We're going to do a zoo trip together on the day and my husband has booked the day off work so we can still make a special day of it. You can still mark the day and make it special without a big party 😊

I’m not. I took his one year pictures myself today. And then on his birthday, the 12th, I’m just doing a cake smash for him. I may invite a couple people. But it’s literally just going to be to watch him eat cake lol and open a present if I get him one. No party, food, refreshments, games. 
I still struggle bad with PPD/PPA and planning a party, down to the simple things like picking a theme really overwhelmed me and made my brain “play opossum” and would get anxiety attack’s thinking about it. 
So I’m going to use that money and take him to the aquarium and get a zoo pass instead!

No party for us. Just hang out and eat a cake as a family. Might have a little DIY smash cake shoot together, too. I'd rather save the money for something better for her.

I don’t think we are.. family and friends are super close but our house is so small and we don’t want to rent a room anywhere.. It’s also been stressing me out thinking of who to invite/ would ppl be offended if they weren’t, etc.. I think on his actual birthday we will do cake and presents and if our parents want to stop by to see him they can. I also just went to a 1st birthday party for a friends baby.. she had about 60 people there and it felt so un-personable. The baby seemed stressed out with all of the people.. she said he didn’t nap all day which I know our baby wouldn’t either lol. Anyways, remember that you’re the parent and you get to decide what you do, don’t feel pressured to throw a party! You could also bring baby to do something fun? Maybe an orchard, hayrides and such 🤗
