Feeding helppp

Brienna • Blessed wife and momma of a gorgeous little girl and 2 amazing step sons.

Hey ladies! I’m at a loss at where else to go until we see GI...

A little back story.

My little girl is 5 months old tomorrow. Bottle fed. A couple weeks in she was spitting up a lot so we got on similac sensitive.

Starting at about a month old, she started having some dairy intolerance (mucousy and bloody stools) they took her off of similac and put us on Alimentum. She did well on Alimentum for about 2 months, however bottles aren’t going up in OZ, we are still feeding at 3oz every 2 hours or so. 2 months into Alimentum, she is suddenly having mucousy stools, no blood - so we are switched to EleCare.

Since being on EleCare we were still spitting up frequently and at the end of Alimentum and beginning of EleCare, she started to seem really uncomfortable during feedings. She would ONLY I mean ONLY eat laying stomach down on my chest. Feeds there and falls asleep. With all the symptoms she was diagnosed with GERD.

She is now on lansoporozole 2mg/day. 1mg in the Morning and evening. Spitting up has gone down. Still fussy during feedings, ONLY eats on my chest stomach down. She will sometimes take an oz or two eating normally but then cries and wants to be laid on my chest. She will cry and cry and cry, turn red and all. We will wait it out and try again and it repeats until she’s exhausted, I give in, lay her on my chest, and she takes a few sips to fall asleep. Wake up. Repeat.

Bowels are not normal either. She goes every 3-6 days. Typically needs to be on prune juice for a day or two before having a BM. But always normal consistency.

I’ve quit the fighting because I believed she was uncomfortable or in pain. I let her feed like this but am becoming exhausted and no one else can feed her including dad. Dr doesn’t seem to have much more insight and we are waiting to see GI. I’m just sick of seeing my baby not her happy self and for so long now 😭😭 something has to give. I’ve searched and searched but can’t find anything similar.

My biggest fear is I have gastroparesis and IBS and she’s showing some similar symptoms of IBS.... could this not be reflux at all and something completely different or could it be nothing but just comfort feeding for her?

Ladies if you have any insight pleaseeeee help a momma out.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, my girls been through a lot 😢
