Is Kombucha safe to drink during pregnancy ?

I did extensive research into kombucha and the answer I got out of it was, no, it’s not safe.

From what I’ve read, it’s not the alcohol content that’s in question from kombucha, which is so low (~1%) it poses no threat to the child. The real issue is that kombucha is not regulated, and therefore not required to be pasteurized. There are brands that do claim to pasteurize, but again because kombucha is not regulated as a whole, you have to take their word on it, as their statements can be false without repercussions.

It has an alcohol content. So no, I would not. Try coconut kefir if you want probiotics. Or Greek yogurt. Or apple cider vinegar drinks. But not regular kombucha.
