I feel stupid lol...

Hello ladies, so I feel stupid even writing this. Im a grown ass woman, and this feels like some high school shit🙄 Any who, back story Im with this guy we were in a relationship years ago. Things didn’t work out because of issues I was having major depression among other things. After about three years, we are now back together we’ve been taking things slow. We’ve been talking slowly getting closer dating ect. for a year now. We use the “L” word, but there is a difference between having love for someone and being in love with someone. That had been in my mind for a bit, so I decided to as nonchalantly as possible to ask him Lol. I just want to know where I stand if that makes any sense. Anyway this was his reply...
