Anyone use a diaper genie and changing table ?

My husband and I just bought a 2 story house and instead of going upstairs for each diaper change..I have wipes and diapers downstairs..it’s seeming like the diaper genie and changing table are pointless now. I have my almost 5 month old and a 2 year old that is still in diapers !

We have a pretty big house. The changing table and genie are in the nursery. I never put diapers in the trash I always use the genie and I use the changing table for poopy diaper changes.

We do. .but we have a 1 story house. It's super easy to go from anywhere in the house to his room for a change!

When we had a 2 story house we bought a second one and kept a diaper genie on each floor

I only have a 1 story house but I use the changing table and diaper genie for every change. If she needs a diaper change in the middle of the night my husband just does it in her crib. I also use the changing table to get her dressed most of the time.

I have a 4 floor house (just moved from single floor condo)  and still use the diaper genie most of the time. Baby’s room is on the 3rd floor, master on the 4th. I find we are on the top 2 floors for most changes so I just bring the diapers down to the genie when I go back downstairs eventually. I still find it useful because they can go in Organics bin for pickup along with food waste. So, keeps it organized on top floors and in kitchen we use organic bin. 
You just have to see how you use your spaces. Could still be useful, if not - sell it! There’s a ton of people who will buy that second hand.

I used the changing table for a bit with my first son when we were in a single story apartment. Now we have 2 floors and I've realized they're REALLY unnecessary unless you have some kind of physical limitation to getting up and down from the floor. Zero risk of accidentally turning aside for even a second and your little one falling. Only reason my changing table still gets use is that it's a dresser, so  I use our diaper genie only for poo diapers. Pee goes in our normal stainless steel trash can. Saves diaper pail refills.

We have her pack n play with changing table attachment in the living room and throw away diapers in a closed bin on our back deck after every change. Eventually when she’s too big for the changing part we will use the guest bed with a mat down for changes. Her real changing table is upstairs

I have my changing table and diaper genie downstairs. I hate going up and down the stairs.
