The difference in UK/American advice

naomi

Since being on this app I have really come to notice that in the UK we get told really different advise from midwives/Drs than Americans do, or atleast it seems that way from what they post. I seen a post today about sterilizing bottles, some asked how often they do it and the comments completely shocked me. Numerous replys saying they only sterilize them once per month, or they havnt done it since the baby is 2 months old. Now I know my dd is 7years old and I'm 26 weeks pregnant now and advice changes and gets updated ect.. but surely it hasn't changed that much in 7 years!! I always thought you do it after every use of a bottle until they are 10 months old? I did it to 12 months with my dd until the health visitor came and said I could of stopped at 10months. This is just one example I've seen of these types of posts and they really baffle me, surely I'm not the only one that thinks this?
