Does getting your membranes sweep hurt??

Sooo my doctor is going to sweep my membranes Tuesday morning...I’ll be 39wks and 1day.... has any lady done this before??

I had it done with my first. It didn’t hurt, it was just kinda uncomfortable but it only lasts a few seconds and they’re done. I went into labor the next morning.

I had it done this past Thursday at 40 weeks. I’m not gonna say it hurt, but it wasn’t pleasant either. Uncomfortable would be how I would describe it. I had some cramping that day with some slight bleeding. Nothing extreme. Today, Friday, I’ve started losing my mucus plug. Dr said it could take 24-48 hours to see any results. I have another appointment scheduled for Monday, another sweep, if I don’t have the baby this weekend.

Odd one out here: hurt like a bitch for me 🤷‍♀️ uncomfortable and sensitive that's why it hurt, i was / am internally tender and had a fairly rough midwife

Yes! But it’s not as painful as u may think and it over really really quick.

Its pretty uncomfortable! The kind of feeling that makes you want to scoot your butt up off the table away from the drs hand! But it worked for me with my first baby!
