Any tips on getting First Time Dad excited?

This is our first little one and I am so excited, but my husband just seems kind of "meh." I make 30 weeks today so not much longer and I have no idea how to get him just a little excited for our bundle of joy. 😭
I know sometimes it's just the way men show their emotions but my husband hasn't taken much seriously. Not interested in pregnancy or parenting books, not interested in what was going on our registry, etc. We both agreed it was time to start a family and now I'm wondering if he was ready. 😭

I think it’s pretty normal for men not to be as interested as we are in the books and the shopping but that doesn’t mean they don’t care. Does he show interest in your ultrasound appointments? I think its harder for them to grasp the entire thing until the baby is physically here because their bodies aren’t affected by it like ours are every single day. Unless he’s totally shunning you out and refusing to talk about the baby I would say it’s probably okay  and he will be excited when baby comes.

My husband doesnt really show any emotion. He likes going to the ultrasounds and things like that to where he can see the baby but other than that he might help out etc to amuse me lol. He said for him he is excited but he isnt really able to bond the way I can. I can feel all of our sons movements and kicks etc. He cant. So for him it's just like oh yeah cool. If I ask for help he is there but he doesnt really show alot of emotion or anything when it comes to it. When we found out we were having a boy he just smiled and that was it, it was just like any other day.

My husband was the same way. He didn’t even care to touch my stomach or feel kicks. I made him feel kicks lol. Honestly my husband didn’t get excited tell our son was about 3 months. At that age my son could see better and would smile when he walked in the room and would reach for him. Some men are emotional during this journey and some aren’t. It doesn’t mean he isn’t ready. I couldn’t have asked for a better father for my son. Just gotta give him time. Always include him but if he doesn’t seem interested it’s okay, it’s important that you included him.

My husband was like this too. They just don't feel the connection like we do because we are the ones growing them. It made me worried for what would happen after birth. But once my husband saw his son for the first time he completely changed and loves that little boy more than life itself. He even told me he didn't know he was gonna feel the way he is lol

Some guys just don’t care about all the ideas just like when it comes to wedding plans. 
I made myself upset trying to get my SO to be just as excited as me...all I could do was explain to him that his vibe was killing my happiness, and I felt like he didn’t care. Once we had that talk, he’s been more willing to listen, and give his option on certain baby related things. 
Keep in mind it took awhile. I think once I started to show and he could start seeing the baby during my ultrasound appointments it really hit him that we’re having a baby.

Some men need something tangible in order to get excited, so once baby is here maybe things will be different.
