My husband and I are done having kids. I have heavy periods anyway, so even if he gets a vasectomy, I'd still like to be on something to help regulate my periods. I was happy on the pill, but want something more effective

I still like the pill because I find comfort in having a period each month and they are very regulated and controlled.

I had two mirenas (taken out in between pregnancies). Never an issue with mine. Caused me to have zero periods the whole time. Highly recommend! I plan on getting another one inserted even after hubby gets snipped so I won’t get a period lol.

The nexplanon arm implant is the most effective form of birth control but iuds are close behind. I have mirena iud myself and I love it

I love my mirena iud! 5 min insertion. I had 2 weeks of bad cramps as my only side effect. After 4 months my periods stopped. We dont use condoms or pull out and i havent gotten pregnant, ive had it almost a year and a half. Meds dont interact with it, ive use st johns wort oil and antibiotics and havent gotten pregnant. Those meds interact with all other hormonal forms of birth control.

Probably won’t take anything, unless I can find a simple non hormonal that doesn’t make me feel crazy, but the hubby is getting snipped! (It was his idea, I told him to go for it)
