Genetic testing?

I did genetic testing with my first but I chose not to this time around for a couple different reasons. I have four doctors, none of them have ever brought it up until today. I was kind of under the impression it was just a perk but not necessarily a necessity. How many of you did genetic testing?

I did NIPT at 11 weeks, it’s pretty common between 9-12 weeks, and then stuff like CVS or amniocentesis is generally done later, but typically not much after about 20 weeks. It’s strange that it’d be coming up this late for you.

I didn’t do any type of genetic testing

I did an amniocentesis with my first pregnancy. This pregnancy I’m not doing any. Amnio was scary enough.

I dont think any of the tests are required so they are optional and some are strongly recommended if there is a medical reason for them.

I just did it a couple weeks ago at 29 weeks due to baby having two vessel cord and one kidney. We had genetic counseling and due to some things on dad's side, they suggested the test and we did it. Results came back fine this week. :-)

I didn’t. They offered it at 12 weeks though not this late

I got all of them fairly early. I believe around 12 weeks.
