Do you wipe your baby when they only pee?

Awhile back I had seen a post here where women were saying they dont wipe their baby when they go pee in their diaper. They only use wipes for poop. I have 2 sons and have always wiped them because I find it gross, I wouldnt want pee on me. Anyways, I'm just curious as to how common this is?

I always wipe them wether it’s poo or just pee. I just think when we go to the toilet we always wipe so why wouldn’t you wipe your baby

I don’t wipe with pees because my babies’ sensitive skin gets all rash-y with too much wiping. Their skin is so much better if we only wipe with poops.

The only time I don't wipe pee is when for some reason I have to change him in the middle of the night, which happens only like once a week or every 2 weeks (normally one diaper lasts from 9pm - 6am since he doesn't pee much at night)
I turn on minimal lighting, he stays half asleep, I change him in bed and since we wipe with water from a thermos, I don't want tired me to wet his sleep sack and then have to change everything and wake him up in the process. He will get thoroughly cleaned in the morning. So far diaper rash has never occoured.

My pediatrician told us to only wipe poop. Wiping more often can cause irritation and rashes

I don’t, because diapers like our Huggies are pretty amazing. When my little boy pees in his diaper, it’s quickly absorbed, and trapped in the gel layer. Baby’s skin stays pretty clean and dry when I check and change. We change often - I counted 14 times a day when he was 3 months old. And he’s had little or no rashes.

Yes definitely! I’ve met two different women in the past both who have sons and both who said they didn’t use wipes when their sons peed because they wanted to save money and men don’t wipe when they pee. Like that’s completely different! A man stands up to pee and nothing gets on them. Your baby sits in the pee and it gets all over their bum and other areas as well because they are sitting in a diaper. That doesn’t justify not wiping your child when they pee to save money. Some people are just neglectful and gross. I don’t know how anyone can be that cheap.

The thought on this is that its sterile and using wipes too often can be hard on their sensitive skin. That being said I do 95% of the time.
