Shots

Do your babies nurses let you hold your baby during shots? When we went for 4mo shots the nurse was not wanting me to hold him, instead she laid him on the bed and held his legs down with her waist over the edge. She said it was much quicker this way. I have read that this causes more pain than babies that are held. I read that it stretches the muscle almost like you would be flexing therefore causing more pain. Also research has shown less crying for babies that are being held by someone. I also read that holding infants is the recommendation by world health organization (WHO). I just don’t understand why they wouldn’t be accepting of what is actually recommended. Just wondering what everyone else does during shots.
