Did I just screw up? Breastfeeding and pacifiers

My sweet little butt was just born this last Sunday, making her a whooping 4 days old. Since day one, we have honestly been breastfeeding really well. Her latch is great and my supply is insanely accommodating. However, yesterday she was being very fussy- just wanted to use my poor raw nipples as a pacifier during a rough night of cluster feeding that kept me awake all night long. 
So I gave in and gave her an actual newborn pacifier to buy myself a few hours of sleep before I risked putting her in the unsafe situation of falling asleep with her in my arms. 
Usually her feedings have lasted 20 minutes with each breast and then she seems satisfied. However today, she isn't keeping the breast longer than 10 minutes and will continue to exhibit rooting and putting her fists in her mouth even after I've fed her, making it seem like she isn't getting anything??
I know the experts say NOT to introduce a pacifier for several weeks to avoid "nipple confusion" and now I feel like I've screwed up breast feeding by doing so. I do not notice a difference with her latch and she SEEMS like she is getting plenty when I feed her (it practically spews from her lips when she lets go), but is it possible these super short and frequent feeds were caused by giving her a pacifier? She also seems to be having trouble sleeping without it today as well. :(
Today, she's had a total of 5 wet diapers and 3 poopy ones since midnight, so I just dont know what to think of her sudden drop in intake.....
Any advice or opinion would help. I'm just worried I won't be able to breast feed anymore because I introduced the pacifier way to early.

Your actual milk may be coming in at this point and she may be fulller

She is beautiful! Congratulations!! Babies change a lot in their frequency and length of nursing sessions especially as your milk comes in so don’t worry. You are doing great. We are 14 months bf and she had a paci at 3 days old and even a few bottles because she dropped too much weight. We have never had any issues with nipple confusion. Just follow her lead.

Don't fret yet. I introduced the paci on day 1... However I always fed before offering it and offering the paci to her was always nso dad could help.

Short, frequent feedings are a sign that your baby might be about to hit a growth spurt. They feed like that to build up your supply. If that's what it is, things will settle into a new ruitine in a couple of days.

Baby could just be getting better at nursing and doesn’t need as much time or your milk is coming out faster. As far as the sucking goes, my son will suck on his hands and he sticks his tongue out a lot even when he’s not hungry—he just wants to suck on something. You can keep giving her the paci! That’s probably why she’s doing that.

I gave my baby a pacifier while still in the hospital. He's six months and still uses it, and nurses just fine. He even got a bottle at two days old (had to supplement a little bit before my milk came in) and now he uses all 3 perfectly fine (pacifier, boob & bottle) 
Your actual milk has probably come in now and baby girl is getting plenty in shorter amounts of time.

I am in the same boat as you!! My little is 1D1W and likes to fall asleep with my nipple in her mouth. Which was leading to sore nipples!
We started the pacifier (we originally wanted to wait weeks) and she falls asleep then drops it and we take it away. Same with her being fussy, it helps!!!. In a few weeks I plan on letting her sleep more with it to reduce SIDS. I haven’t noticed an issue with breast feeding so don’t bank on that being the cause. Remember everyday.... and especially as your milk comes in the feeding might look different. My times are still a bit different and my milk as been in for days. Don’t be so hard on yourself with your decision!

Her suckling is probably starting to get more efficient. If she’s resting well and making wet diapers then she is filling

Nursing was really sporadic during that time with my guy. I highly doubt it was the pacifier's fault. Your full milk is coming in and really she doesn't know what she's doing. She is probably getting more fatty milk now which will satisfy her better but she's not used to it yet. Just keep feeding on demand; sometimes they want a meal and sometimes they just want a snack. You're doing fine; breast feeding is very difficult so don't worry too much if you feel like it's not totally perfect. She's only a couple days old, give yourself a break! Shes obviously eating well because you're getting enough diapers. Feeding on demand is key. Good luck!
