Can you swallow pills?

Question

My last poll made me wonder this question.  I personally can't take pills. I don't know why, I just can't do it. When I was younger my mom had to choke me for a pill to actually go down my throat. We tried putting it in food, drinks, back my throat, etc. Nothing worked. I've heard some people say that it's a mental thing. 🤷‍♀️ I'm 19 and I still can't take them. My uncle is in his 40s and he's the only other person I've met who absolutely can't take pills either. I'm curious to how many other people can't take them?
In result to not being able to take them, in the past I have ended up:
1. Chewing them. (Don't recommend, very disgusting)
2. Punctured through liquid capsules and drank them
3. Crushed the pills and put the powder in a sandwich
4. Usually I just try to take liquid medicine if at all possible

I have this issue. Don't know why but trying to swallow pills freaks me out. I've only ever been able to swallow a pill once and I cried the whole time trying to work up the courage to do it.

My friend can’t. She has to ask for liquid medicine or for capsules she can’t open and put into pudding so she can’t taste it.

My sister literally fears it and can’t take anything bigger than a tic tac because the feeling of it getting stuck in her throat scares her. 
Me on the other hand, I swallow two pills at once and take ones that are HUGE. Can’t imagine not being able to take medication 😵

I couldn’t until I got pregnant and needed iron...liquid iron is really nasty so I figured something out. Lol the best thing for me is eating something crunchy, like chips, chewing it for a second then putting the pill in and drinking water to wash everything down. If I feel it in my mouth I can’t do it. And once I had my kids, I’m basically back to not being able to swallow pills. People think I’m crazy and it’s kinda embarrassing but I hate meds anyway

I can. I have. It just doesn't work all the time..... If I can feel it in my mouth when I'm going to swallow it it is NOT going down and I'll gag on it.

I was like that for the longest time. Only thing that works for me - carbonated drink and one big ass swallow. No thinking. If i could feel the pill in my mouth, wasnt happening. Thats where the carbonation came in.. make it float lol

I can take little ones with no issue but if its huge ill have an issue. I used to not be able to take them tho.

Nope. Unless its ibuprofen I'll literally throw it up before it can go down.

Most pills yes but I don't like and avoid particularly big capsules as sometimes they feel like they get stuck and can cause nausea.

I have to everyday so I’m good at it now but sometimes I go like retarded and can’t swallow it or I try and get it caught in my throat. So half the time I psych myself and have to try extra hard lol.
