How long does the retrieval procedure take?

I figure it’s longer than 5m but less than an hour. I think ours will happen Tues or Weds.....I’ll be under anasthesia for it, but I’m still curious! 
And when will we find out how many eggs were retrieved? Same day, or do we have to wait a few days?

Mine was 40 mins, I had 47 follicles. A good estimate is one minute per follicle. So an average procedure is 15-20 mins and usually they aim for 15 follicles.

It depends how many follicles you have and if they’re difficult to reach or not. I’ve not heard of more than 30 minutes though. I can’t imagine being awake for it, my clinic does deep sedation, which feels like a nice nap. They told me as I was being wheeled out of the theatre how many eggs had been collected and I found out the next day how many were mature/had fertilised.

I was awake for mine. It takes about 15-20 mins max. I found out how many were retrieved before I left the clinic. The next day (day 1) is when I found out how many were mature and how many fertilized. I had an update day 3, day 5 (which was also my transfer day-- fresh transfer), and day 7.
