Patch Test- Hair dye

I really want to dye my hair tonight so help would be greatly appreciated :)

So I bought new semi permanent dye. I have done my 48hr patch test. I applied it to my inner elbow and have had no reaction whatsoever there but my scalp feels a bit itchy. I put none of the dye behind my ear or anywhere near the scalp so it it safe to assume it’s not the dye making this happen. As I said no reaction or itching where I actually applied the test. Am I just being paranoid?
