Need reassurance or something 20 month old isn’t talking yet.

So my son is 20 mths old or I guess 1.5 whichever ppl like to say at this point and he’s not talking yet. I’m a big advocate with early intervention so I asked for a referral to a speech pathologist and he’s had evaluation done and they have said they don’t see ASD but they see an expressive speech delay and it’s isolated he’s got receptive language down and is great socially. But he won’t do much but babble and won’t use his words. He used to say dog and duck but since learning the sounds they make he won’t use their names anymore and the speech pathologist said this can happen when they are trying to figure out how they are connected and to just keep reminding him that the woof or quack sound is for a dog or duck. Basically I was just wondering if someone else has been in this boat and what else I can be doing at home. I try to talk to him as much as I can read when he will pay attention he’s all over the place here lately wanting to play with everything and I try to hardly ever have the tv on ( we live in a small apartment at the moment so at night when my husband watches tv he is exposed to it- I know shame on me). I’m getting really anxious and worried he’s never going to talk. And I’m not sure what more I can do. And I’m also trying really hard not to compare him to other kids his age but it’s just so sad to me when I just want to hear all he has to say and I don’t get that like other parents... and Idk. I just need help or advice or something that I’m not the worst mom in the world, he is my first and I feel like I’ve failed him in some way 😢
