Can I call them my nieces?

Question

My boyfriend has two nieces.. We have a child together (their first cousin) does that mean they are my nieces now too? Even if he and I aren't married? Lol 
Sorry if its a dumb question.

Ugh it depends on your family dynamic. 
You're usually married to be considered aunty/nieces etc. But I would call my brother's commited SO aunty and I'm assuming they'd refer to my child as their niece. As I say, it really does depend if you're traditionalist or not.

I’ve been with my SO for 7 years. his niece was born 4 years ago, before we ever had kids together, and she calls me auntie and I very much consider her my niece. I think it depends on their age when you came into their life and your family dynamic. My daughter was 2 when I started dating my SO, and although my daughter considers my SO’s brother and his wife her aunt and uncle, she just calls them by name.
