To take my unpaid maternity leave earlier than expected (35 week) because of the issues I’ve been having.

Me and my hubby discussed him starting this training ahead of time and agreed that it’d be the best decision for him to go because I won’t have an income and Atleast this way he will be making enough to support us for a few months and I won’t have to work. We discussed that he most likely won’t he won’t be able to be there for the baby’s delivery unless it’s on a weekend and even though it’s upsetting we just figured it was the best choice so we can provide what we need for our boy. Here and there people have been saying stuff like “oh he should come home for the birth of his son” and “oh I’m sure they won’t mind letting him off” “oh he should’ve waited until the baby was born to start work” and I usually just brush it off because those people don’t know the entire story. Well I went to my Obgyn for my blood pressure again and she asked me if anything had been stressing me out... well I just kind of summed up that I had been a little stressed between all the pain I’m in, not being able to sleep, and just missing hubby while he’s away. She proceeded to ask me more about my hubby’s work and asked if he would be here for the delivery... I told her the only way he could make it is if it would happen on the weekend... she pretty much told me that his son should come before his job and that he could always drive back when I went into labor... I explained to her that he could be 12 hours away and there’s no way he could just make it in time for the labor... she continued to say he should be there and eventually I just felt bad...

I thought I was making the best decision but I’m starting to question it and now I’m so upset 😔
