Is cheer a sport?

I wanna get input from just girls because almost all of the guys I’ve asked have said no, but most the girls have said yes

Yes 
So is show choir 
So is marching band
By definition they are sports

I think competitive cheer, yes. But standing alongside the sidelines for football, is different.

Absolutely. Even high school cheer. I was a cheerleader in high school. We didn’t “just stand in the sidelines and shake Pom poms” we threw people in the air, danced, and tumbled. We practiced for hours multiple times a week. Including conditioning like ab workouts and leg strengthening. We had tumbling classes every week and worked our asses off.
