People’s opinions on expanding our family

Needing some advice

My husband and I always knew we wanted atleast three children. We have two already (Girl and a boy) and we have been considering starting to try for baby #3.

Lately though, we have been having a lot of negative comments about expanding our family....

Mother in-law said to me, “Are you still thinking of having one more? Why? You already have one of each?”

Two of our very very close friends think that we are crazy for even considering more than two. (Both of their pregnancies were not easy on them and they are both career oriented ladies. The idea alone of being a stay at home mom really isn’t something they want) They are always trying to convince us not to consider a third.

My father is not actively in our lives very much (for many reasons) but he sure likes to make it known that he thinks kids are just whining, germ-infested money pits. He doesn’t understand why we want to have and raise children.

Amongst the negative, we do have a lot of other loving and supporting friends and family that are excited about the possibility of more little ones.

My issue is, the negativity is starting to take over any positive. My husband really wants more children (like I do) but he is worried about judgement. Especially from his mother and my father. He worries that maybe they won’t accept the new baby.

Any advice?

Sincerely,

Heartbroken mom of 2
