Just curious when picking names do you?

Just curious mostly for those that want unique not popular names but how popular or diff is on or to your liking?

My husband loves traditional and or trendy popular names. I specifically said to him nothing on the top 100 per sex and no name variations.
It took us forever to find a name but we eventually agreed. Everyone we told the name to before she was born told us it was a strange name and we should change it to whatever. The first couple months of her life I was not sure I made the right name choice because some people looked at me funny and made strange comments. After a while everyone kept telling me how they loved the name and it suits her well. I have no regrets and plan on doing the same with my second. 
Idk. Maybe it’s just me but I hated going to school and knowing about 10 Ashley’s and always having to specify what one am talking about or to. I just didn’t want the to be my child. No offense to anyone with that name.
My Daughter is named Azalea. Not after the rapper or singer just after the flower 🌺

My problem is the names that I have always loved and were never popular have inexplicably become popular over the last few years....planning to use anyway

Just don't like made up ones, ones with lynn or leigh,with ' or - or naming kids after basic things.

I love unique names my sons name I have never met another child with and my daughters is getting more popular but still not common at all.

I don't care about whether a name I like is popular or not. I'm not a fan of the more modern, trendy names so it isn't usually an issue for me, but if I absolutely loved a name and it was incredibly popular, I wouldn't care.

I don’t care how popular it is, I’m using it cause I love it. I don’t bother looking at any list when I’m choosing a name.. Pretty sure my sons name would be considered popular but never checked. He’s almost 3
