My daughter was born 4 days ago and my milk is in full force, no supply issues, however when she latches on my left breast it is excruciating. There’s no visible cracks on the skin and I’ve tried a number of different positions to alleviate the pain. Nothing is helping. Pumping doesn’t hurt at all- in fact it offers some relief. This is my second child and I breastfed my first for 18 months with relative ease. I think there is a latching issue but can’t figure out what. The pain continues throughout feeding and hurts to touch between feedings.
