Obgyn rant

So went to have my anatomy ultrasound on the 11th of September. They were concerned about my daughter’s umbilical cord cause it looked like it was at the end of the placenta instead of in the middle. Well with my last pregnancy I had a small baby and she was lbw (low birthweight) no biggie. They say they are sending a referral to a specialist and if I didn’t hear from them by my next appointment (two weeks later) that they’d give me the number. Well I didn’t hear from them and I get their number and I call. Well turns out my obgyn only sent my records and not a referral. So they had to get with my obgyn to get a referral. Well a month and a half later I get a call saying hey can you come in tomorrow at nine? Yeah that’s fine. Okay I get there fill my paperwork out and the lady takes me back to go over it with me and at the end she said it looks like you are here because your doctor saw cysts on your baby’s brain. Now hold the fuck up. I didn’t know about that. I said that’s funny cause I was told they were sending me here because of her umbilical cord placement. She said oh there’s nothing in here about that. Well don’t you just love doctors?? I start crying cause that’s my baby. I need to know this stuff. Anyways I get the ultrasound and the doctor says her umbilical is in the right place and there are no cysts on her brain. Turns out they can develop them early on in development and between weeks 20-26 they are usually gone. Anyways that’s fine but don’t hold back information like that from me. Since I had a small baby before they are going to see me every six weeks to monitor her growth. Right now she is perfectly fine and where she is supposed to be.
