We have decided that our oldest boy will have my husband’s middle name. It sounds great with the first name, and we both love his middle name.

We had talked about our oldest girl having my middle name, which I was fine with, but once we decided on her first name, it doesn’t flow super well. I’m fine with me being the only one with my middle name. It works with my name but not with all names. But my husband is still insistent that we give our girl mine. It really doesn’t go with any of the girl names we love, and the oldest’s name is pretty non-negotiable. We also don’t like 2 middle names, so that’s out.

Would it be okay to do just his and not mine? My oldest brother has my dad’s name, but I don’t have my mom’s.
