Hey! So I’ve been looking for a good birth control option for me to help with my EXTREMELY painful periods. I was allergic to and always forgot to take the 5 different types of pills I’ve tried and they all just made me feel worse. I went to the gyno two days ago and she prescribed the nuvaring. I’m on my period this week so she told me to put it in when my period starts to like taper off and not be as heavy. So, I just put it in and it feels super weird, not painful, but just like theres a foreign object in my body. What I’m most scared of is it falling out. I’m a dancer, cheerleader and a performer and I do a lot of moving and splits and cheer stunts and stuff and I don’t know I’m super worried about it especially if im around a lot of people and it comes out, I don’t always have the time to use the bathroom to fix it. I also had a question. My gyno told me since my goal is to not have a period at all or a super SUPER light one that I could just always have a ring in and i shouldnt have a period. But everything I’ve read online says you HAVE to take it out after 3 weeks and then wait at least 7 days. Like I know I have to swap it out with a new ring every three weeks but is it safe to just never not have one in? what does everyone else using it do? Also, Will my boyfriend feel the ring during sex? Can I still wear tampons with the ring in? If it comes out while im in a school bathroom where the sinks are public and the toilets are closed in stalls, how would I go about washing it to reinsert? I don’t know, I have a lot of questions because I just really wanted relief quickly and I was just ready to do whatever was next and just get something done about it. If anyone could help that would be great :))
