Pre-eclampsia: baby will be here soon
Update #2: (early Saturday am) My labs for HELLPS syndrome are stable but still not great. Baby is 90% likely to come Sunday via C-section. I got one dose of steroids Friday morning and will get another Saturday. If all goes well, we’ll be able to give the second dose of steroids 24 hours to work. I might have to have the C-section under general anesthesia, because my platelets are low. So I’m a bit sad about that. But baby’s odds are good. We have a long NICU journey ahead, but I think we’ll all be strong.
Update (Friday afternoon):I have pre-eclampsia. Got sent to the big hospital downtown in an ambulance. But they have a level 4 NICU here. Looks like baby will come very soon, but still waiting on labs to know how much time we have. I’m kinda scared, but the doctors and nurses here are great.
Original Post (Friday am)
So Thursday morning I woke up with really bad heartburn and diarrhea. Called in sick from work, then started throwing up.
At one point in the afternoon, I thought I was starting to feel better, keep some applesauce down, but at 5 I started vomiting again. Couldn’t keep anything down all night, even water or Gatorade.
So now I’m at the ER for IV fluids, but they have to send me to L&D just in case. And my blood pressure is high. So we’ll see what happens. I’m just so tired. And my stomach hurts from throwing up. Uggh
