Is it safe to wait to see your OB?

Hey ladies. So I’m 5w4d and I only went to the doctors to confirm pregnancy. I do not have any medical insurance. My husband should be getting benefits in December. I will be 3 months then.  Is it safe to wait? I’m already taking prenatal vitamins at home.

Eh. To be honest my doc won’t even see me until 8 weeks. You get the bloodwork done and an ultrasound to make sure baby is attached and there are 2 sacks. Then don’t go back until 12 so so its not the absolute WORST thing to wait if you’re really concerned about cost. Just make sure to take vitamins and drink lots of water and generally take care of yourself. However if you have the means to make an 8 week appointment work then I would have one.

Seeing a dr now vs a couple months isn’t going to do anything to the pregnancy. I’m waiting to see my midwife until probably 16 weeks.

Totally safe to wait.  If you're taking care of yourself, they really don't do anything until about 20 weeks.

I honestly went in to see my OB at 16 weeks with my first pregnancy. Was trying to figure out insurance. I felt fine and honestly just think I saved myself multiple pointless trips to the clinic

I work in the hospital, yes it is safe to wait, my mom had the same thing happen she didnt get to go until 5 months, of course there are certain tests that they would want to perform(mostly bloodwork) before then to see certain things but as long as you arent having any problems just lake sure you eat healthy and take your vitamins and water water waterrr !

I wouldn’t wait personally. Talk to the office about your situation, I’m sure they could work something out for you.
