Conceiving after Miscarriage

Soooo, I had a miscarriage about three weeks ago and had the D&C about two weeks. I’m mentally in a good place now because it initially was devastating. I was told by my doctor that he wants me to have 3 cycles before we start trying to conceive again. I’ve read that this was an out dated practice.

What have you guys been told by your doctors on how long you should wait after miscarrying?
