I'm making this poll because of someone else's post, but it got me thinking. Someone posted about how her boyfriend doesn't want to ask for the fathers blessing/permission for the daughter's hand in marriage. Most of the people commenting said they didn't like this tradition anyway.

Personally, I love this tradition and want my boyfriend to ask my father before marriage. I'm not married yet. My father has had a falling out with all of his children for about a year now so I don't think this will actually happen. My older sisters husband was able to ask my father when they got married though.

What are your opinions about this? Did your husbands ask for your father's permission/blessing before marriage?
