Hi ladies sorry to ask this but what does luteal phase means ? I am 12DPO and am late 1 day late on my period i did 2 tests and it came negative and i got a positive ovulation too ???what do you guys think????

The luteal phase is x-amount of days(varies between women and there is no way to really know how long your luteal phase is without testing; average is 14days tho) after ovulation where your uterus lining thickens to prepare for the implantation of a fertilized egg, if fertilization/implantation doesn’t happen then the lining sheds and you get your period.
If you have a luteal phase shorter than 10 days it’ll be next to impossible for pregnancy to occur, because lack of progesterone means the uterus lining won’t thicken enough for a fertilized egg to implant so a period will occur.
But this is all what I gathered about the luteal phase, seems confusing but it’s pretty straight forward if you look into it enough.
As for your pregnancy testing, maybe it’s too early? I don’t know what a positive ovulation test would mean unless you ovulated late which is why is it’s positive now unless it correlates with pregnancy testing but I’m not familiar with all that. I tested 6 days after my missed period and I never tracked my fertility.
